For music in the living room, Echo Studio gets Amazing on its documented audio features. Echo Dot Max is the Good middle choice. Echo Dot gets Mid for filling a bigger room, but could be the smartest purchase for bedside podcasts and timers. I have not listened to the three side by side; this is about which features fit the job.

Amazing: Echo Studio (2025) — The music-first option
The redesigned Echo Studio supports spatial audio and Dolby Atmos, with room adaptation that adjusts playback to the space. It also includes a smart-home hub. Those capabilities make it the most interesting of this trio if listening to compatible music is the main reason for buying a speaker.
Atmos support does not turn every recording into an Atmos mix. Your music service, subscription and selected track matter, and compatible Fire TV hardware is required for supported home-theater configurations. Amazing is a feature-based verdict for that use—not a promise that every listener will prefer its sound.

Good: Echo Dot Max (2025) — The middle option has a clear role
Echo Dot Max also offers room-adapting playback and a built-in smart-home hub. Amazon’s nearly-three-times-bass claim is relative to Echo Dot’s 2022 release; it is not a comparison with Studio or a measurement performed by HBH.
That distinction matters when deciding whether to step up from a regular Dot. Dot Max is the Good choice for someone who wants a more music-focused Echo without buying Studio’s full feature set. Check the current price gap and the compatible-device list before planning stereo pairs or a television setup.

Mid: Echo Dot (5th generation) — A smaller job does not need the largest speaker
The fifth-generation Echo Dot supports music services, Bluetooth playback, timers and Alexa routines. Its motion and temperature sensors can trigger supported routines. That covers plenty of bedroom and office jobs without making music reproduction the whole purchasing decision.
It gets Mid only for living-room music. If you mainly ask for weather, set cooking timers or play a podcast nearby, those larger-speaker upgrades may not justify their cost. Do not confuse this model with a Dot Max simply because a listing says newest model within its own product line.

Does buying an Echo include every music and Alexa feature?
No. Service subscriptions, regional availability and account eligibility can affect features. Review the current terms for the services you use. Amazon’s device announcement explains the 2025 Studio and Dot Max generation. The eero Built-in feature also requires a compatible existing eero network; the speaker alone does not replace your internet router.
Choose Studio for its expanded audio capabilities, Dot Max for the middle ground, and Dot when the room and job are modest. A speaker that fits your daily use beats an impressive feature you never switch on.
