The Roomba 104 Combo earns Good for a mixed-floor home. The i3+ EVO is Mid as a new purchase when it costs close to the other two. A big discount—or no interest in mopping—can change that last verdict.

Roborock advertises 10,000 Pa suction and up to seven to nine weeks between dock-bag changes. Those are manufacturer claims, not HBH cleaning-test results. Suction numbers alone cannot tell us which robot picks up the most cereal. The feature combination earns my vote; the number does not prove a cleaning championship.

The Roomba 104 Combo pairs LiDAR room mapping with vacuum-only, mop-only and combined cleaning modes. The listing says it detects and avoids carpets while mopping. That matters when the living room has both hard flooring and a rug you would prefer to keep dry.
Its AutoEmpty dock advertises up to 75 days of debris capacity. Actual bag life depends on your mess. Choose this one when its carpet-handling approach and room controls fit your home, especially if a sale narrows the price gap with the Roborock.

Mid: Roomba i3+ EVO 3554 — A narrower job can still be the right job
The i3+ EVO 3554 offers room targeting, orderly cleaning rows, dual rubber brushes and a dock rated for up to 60 days of debris. It is a vacuum-only choice here. If you already own one that does its job, this comparison is not a reason to throw it out.
For a new purchase at similar prices, the missing mopping function makes its feature package less compelling. But a substantial discount and a carpet-heavy home make a different argument. Mid means the weaker fit for this vacuum-and-mop shopping brief; it does not mean your current robot is suddenly useless.

Does a self-emptying robot vacuum mean no maintenance?
No. Self-emptying describes transferring debris into the dock. You still replace bags, clean brushes and sensors, and care for filters. With a mop, add water and pad cleaning to the list. Check the exact dock bundle before checkout, leave space around the base, and clear cords before a run. The goal is fewer chores—not adopting a small round supervisor.
My buying rule: choose Q7 M5+ for the broad feature package, 104 Combo for its mixed-floor mopping approach, and i3+ EVO only when its price and vacuum-only job make sense.
